Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to the website of Potley Hill Primary School.
We are a one-form entry primary school located on a 50-acre wooded green field site in the Blackwater Valley.
We are extremely proud of the culture we have created here at Potley, which is based on our vision that all children should have the opportunity to “Dream Big, Aim High and Make a Difference”. Everything we do is underpinned by our values of kindness, respect, responsibility, creativity, resilience and teamwork. Our school is a happy, caring and welcoming community where we recognise the value in every individual and our highly-skilled staff work tirelessly to recognise the uniqueness of every learner, ensuring that every child in our care is able to flourish and contribute to our school and local community.
Our curriculum is both challenging and creative, catering for the diverse needs of our children and aiming to inspire an excitement and enthusiasm for learning at whatever starting point a child comes from. The curriculum aims to equip pupils with key, lifelong skills across a wide range of subjects, but it is underpinned by the importance of high-quality English and Maths. We also encourage the development of a broad range of interests and talents by providing a rich variety of extracurricular activities, opportunities and experiences which are supported through our Potley Hill Pupil Guarantee.
Our learning environment has been designed to support all children in their growth, development and learning as an individual. Our Nurture Nook Bus, Sensory Courtyard, together with our well-resourced Outdoor Learning area contribute to the outstanding behaviours and attitudes our children display as every child’s needs are met during the school day in a way appropriate to them.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for. We would be delighted to meet you and take you on a tour of our school, so please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have or to make an appointment to look round.
